Theatre Club

The Kenneth More Theatre Club is possibly the largest Theatre Supporters’ Club in the country, with over 5,000 members.

THE ADVANTAGES OF MEMBERSHIP

ADVANCE INFORMATION

Club Members receive a bi-monthly Newsletter and publicity material giving general theatre news and details of forthcoming shows before they are advertised to the general public.

PRIORITY BOOKING

Club Members can book ahead of the general public - this is particularly beneficial for the really popular shows and for the Saturday Nights, and especially useful for our regular one night concerts and for the pantomime, all of which sell out very quickly.

TICKET PRICE DISCOUNTS

Club Members (provided they pay for their seats at least one week in advance) are generally offered a discount of £1 on most tickets, and frequently there is a special Club Night offer and other special club discounts.

OTHER ADVANTAGES

The Club occasionally arranges coach outings to other theatres; Club Members can use the bar even when not attending a performance (the bar is not open to the general public unless they are attending the show); Club Members qualify for a discount when hiring fancy dress from the Costume Hire Department; there are occasional events at The Kenneth More which are restricted to Club Members only.

THE CLUB’S CONSTITUTION

The Club was set up to be an independent support body, building an audience, improving facilities and fund-raising for the Kenneth More Theatre. All the Club’s surplus funds are donated to the Theatre.

THE SPOTLIGHT FUND

Over the years the Club has raised the staggering sum of over £190,000 for its Spotlight Fund - a fund dedicated to making the KMT a better place to work in and to visit. This fund has provided a vast number of items, ranging from spotlights to microphones, curtains to costumes, new seats to new carpets, hand drying machines, fridges - in fact you name it and we’ve bought it! The Spotlight Fund has also managed to help out the KMT by contributing to major purchases - like neon signs, computer systems, the laser and so on. This fund is continually being topped up by the generosity of actors and technicians staging shows with all the profits going to the fund, and by the generosity of Club Members in supporting the Annual Christmas Draw, and a whole range of fund-raising events.

THE VOLUNTEERS

The Club is proud to provide an army of volunteers to sell programmes, show customers to their seats, sell ice-creams and coffee, stuff envelopes and do the other 101 jobs that crop up around the theatre. If you have any spare time at all please speak to Barbara Hills who is at the theatre on most performance evenings.
