LA CAGE AUX FOLLES

The Cage aux Folles Nightclub is famous for its boys dressed as girls.  The owners are Georges and  his star performer “wife”, Albin,  – the club’s top drag act.   Georges’ son (from an earlier “mistake”)  wants to marry the daughter of a straight-laced, anti-gay politician.  The politician wants to meet the “family”.  Oops!  Jerry Herman’s music, Harvey Fierstein’s book, two successful films and a smash on Broadway and the West End. Not for young children or the strait-laced, but a marvelous, joyous time for everyone else.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Ratty, Mole, Mr Toad – all those well-remembered characters from the Kenneth Grahame tales of our childhood were adapted by the incomparable Alan Bennett for a Royal National Theatre production.  It turned out to be one the great theatre hits of the 1990s.  This is a delightful experience for grown-ups and children alike – you’ll be sorry if you miss it!
