A music-lover’s delight from start to finish, Stephen Sondheim’s classic is a seamless fusion of fairy-tales that strikes at the child’s heart within us all.  A baker and his wife journey into the woods in search of a cow, a red cape, hair as yellow as corn and a golden slipper – all necessary to lift the curse that has kept them childless.  They meet up with a beguiling cast of characters including Cinderella, Rapunzel, a lascivious Wolf and a vengeful Giant, who will weave their magic spell over you in songs such as “No One is Alone”, “There are Giants in the Sky” and the haunting “Children Will Listen”.

ORPHEUS IN THE UNDERWORLD

Greek mythology?  Well, not exactly!  Homer didn’t write about a namy-pamby Orpheus, a flirty Eurydice and  an overbearing mother-in-law, Calliope.  The King of the Gods, Jupiter, didn’t have a nightmare family, and the King of Hades, Pluto, didn’t run a Bacchanalian Paradise where the Can-Can was all the rage.  Homer didn’t tell this story - but Offenbach did! And it’s Offenbach’s highly  disrespectful romp amongst the gods and their girlfriends that makes this  one HELL of a show!
