GHETTO

Written by Israeli playwright Joshua Sobol this play, set in the Jewish ghetto of Vilna , Lithuania , in 1942, tells of the unlikely flourishing of a theatre at the very time the Nazis began their policy of mass extermination. A true story based on diaries written during the darkest days of the Holocaust, and containing the original Klezmer songs form the Vilna Ghetto Theatre. This play champions the triumph of the human spirit over adversity . A moving and thought provoking tale. This is an important and brave play - for the theatre, for history, and as a lesson for the new and rising generations.

TWELVE ANGRY MEN

The prosecution has made out an excellent case – a mass of evidence all damning the nineteen year old boy accused of murdering his father. The jury won’t take long on this one. But Juror Number 8  has nagging doubts and tries to persuade the others.  Juror Number 3 is all-out for a vengeful guilty verdict – but is this because of the evidence or his own deep-seated prejudices?  This classic play by Reginald Rose was originally written for USA television, and then became a much acclaimed Hollywood film with Henry Fonda and E.G. Marshall , and a successful theatre play staged throughout the world.

Absurd person Singular

In the first of Alan Ayckbourn’s comedies set at Christmas time, we visit three couples’ kitchens on consecutive Christmas Eves:  The lower class Hopcrofts, their bank manager and his wife, and their architect neighbour with a suicidal wife.  Running like a darker thread through the wild comedy of behind-the-scenes disasters at Christmas parties is the story of the advance of the Hopcrofts at the expense of the others.  Seasonal entertainment not to be missed!.
